Information

      Learn the limits of your machine with our score without burn grid test. Push your materials and your laser to find the sweet spot where you can get dark scores without adding extra sanding time to each job. The PX1 PX2 text included in each score circle shows you how many passes were used to achieve the score darkness.

P = power  /  S = speed  /  PX = Passes

Instruction

1

Step1

Sand with 180 + 220 grit paper if needed, then add the material to the machine. Use the camera or built in positioning system to show the software where the material is on the laser bed

2

Step2

Centre the design on your material

3

Step3

Check your exhaust is vented outside

4

Step4

Hit start on the software, then when ready, hit start on the machine. Do not leave the machine alone whilst processing

5

Step5

Once complete, remove your grid from the machine and check it to see if any tweaks to settings are needed. Do not sand the wood, as the point of the test is to show you the right settings to use without the need for sanding after processing. If you sand it, you won't know which settings gave you a clean engrave.
