Information

I found this in the suggested projects when I was looking for ideas. I made this as a Christmas present. It's a passive phone amplifier/stand. This project really is not for the faint of heart. It is a tough project to make. I failed miserably a few times before achieving this. I love the project and am proud of myself for accomplishing it. I am not quite finished with it yet. I am planning on either putting lacquer or resin on it to give it a finishing coat.

Instruction

1

Step1

Step 1: Found the image and downloaded the file.

Step 2: Fit the pieces to your specs. I had to play with this a few times.

Step 3: Paint or stain your wood.

Step 4: I used foil to cut the patterns onto my pieces. I put it on and then picked the unnecessary pieces off leaving the design, the lines, and the words. I cut all the pieces at this point too.

Step 5: Glued everything together. I used super glue and hot glue. The one side piece was actually a little too long. I ended up filing it in the notch section in 2 places to make it work. I was tired of recutting and trying to make it work. I failed at making this about 3 times before finally accomplishing this. I started with gluing the sides of the piano to the inner top piece. Then glued the box with the holes into the bottom part. I put the cord through the holes as I was gluing the body of the piano together. There were a couple of pieces I doubled to fit the holes. And a couple of pieces I cut and didn't use.

Step 6: Glue the front pieces onto the piano.

Step 7: Glue the top note into the very top piece.

Step 8: Glue very top piece onto the piano.

Step 9: Varnish it.

Step 10: Gift it or use it.

** I glued the legs on after I got the body together. It was after putting the front onto the body.
