Say Cheese! Laser Engraved Bamboo Cutting Board

Being a relative newbie I was keen to enter one of the Atomm contests. We use cutting boards all the time so another one for the kitchen was hardly going to be a problem.
Instruction
Step1: Inspiration
I wanted to do a cheeseboard as we love cheese in our house! Having purchased a bamboo cutting board from our local range store it was a case of working out what to put on it. I decided on “mice on the moon” as mice love cheese and we all know the Moon is made of it!
The general design was generated with help from Almake AI and then adapted using GIMP to get rid of the bits I didn't want.
Step2: Creation
The design was prepped to fit a 20cm x 15cm engraving surface so you may have to change size of the design to fit your board. The 3 layers ( one for each process of bitmap engrave, vector engrave and score) have been grouped so resizing should be easier.
I used a S1 40W and like to engrave a bit deeper than some instructions I have seen which takes a bit longer. Adapt parameters as you see fit. It took 27 minutes to engrave using the given settings.
Step3: Critique
Fairly happy with the results, but the slightly coarse grain of the wood and a couple of darker patches meant it didn't come out 100% as desired. Still it worked well and I was able to enjoy a nice glass of port and a bit of cheese after as a reward. Wensleydale with cranberries and Roquefort for those who are interested!
