Step1: Before Starting

This is my very first project after getting my UV laser 😆

I’ve heard a lot about UV’s “cold processing,” so I wanted to test it myself—especially on wood cutting and engraving.

I only had 3 mm basswood on hand, so I decided to make a pair of tiny cat paw stud earrings 🐾✨

A quick note on my wood results, in case it helps anyone 👇

1️⃣ Wood cutting
Settings really matter for wood cutting—a lot.
If the parameters are off, the result can look pretty rough.

For my cut, I used:
👉 Power: 100
👉 Speed: 200
👉 Passes: 500

2️⃣ Wood engraving
For engraving, I kept it simple.
I just picked the setting directly from the “one-click set” in the software based on how dark I wanted the wood to look 🎯

Nailed it on the first try! 🙌

Honestly, I was just curious if it could really stay clean with no burn marks like everyone says… and the result surprised me 👀

The edges are super clean—only the natural color of the wood on the side, with zero burn marks or charring at all. Pretty impressed for a first try!😍
