      This project features a high-contrast, intricate mandala design representing the duality of the Sun and Moon. The artwork was laser-engraved directly onto 1/8" Basswood without masking. Using specific high-density settings, the result is a deep, toasted finish that highlights the natural wood grain. Ideally suited for wall art, coasters, or altar decor.

Step 1: Material Setup
Material: 1/8" (3mm) Basswood Plywood.
Placement: Directly onto the honeycomb bed.
Note: Do not use masking tape (for rustic aesthetic).
Securing: Use honeycomb pins to keep the material flat.
Step 2: Machine Preparation (xTool S1)
Module: 40W Diode Laser Module.
Focus: Use the auto-focus probe on the center of the material.
Air Assist: Set to High/Strong (to prevent staining on unmasked wood).
Step 3: Processing Parameters (for deep, dark contrast)
Processing Mode: Engrave
Power: 35%
Speed: 200 mm/s

Step 4: Post-Processing
Action: Remove the piece from the laser.
