Information

We burned an image onto two different types of wood, Basswood and Pine, using two passes. In the first pass, we just burned the image; in the next pass, we applied powder-coat paint as shown in the pictures. Rapid sanding with 220-grit paper and a vacuum attached; this was the result. This was our first try at this.

Instruction

Step1

  1. 1st Pass 40% power / 160 mm/s
  2. Applied the powder-coated paint; a very little goes a long way, then lightly scraped the top to ensure we filled the burned image. Don't worry about the excess around the edges; it will come right off with a quick, very light sanding. You must not move the project; it must undergo a second pass by the laser.
  3. 2nd pass 15% power / 193 mm/s
  4. Removed and lightly sand the peice.
  5. All of this was our first try, we are sure there are different ways to go about and different settings, just sharing what we did, hope you can find it helpful.
