Information

An underwater paper cut design, with coral and jellyfish. I made the card for my child who wants to become a Marine Biologist when they grow up. You just need three sheets of paper in different shades. The cutout worked best with the laser cut, but I also tried the fine cut tool and that worked as well. It's just a little more work to keep the jellyfish tentacles from tearing as you pull it off the sticky board.

Instruction

1

Step1: Pick out shades of colors

Pick out three cardstock colors. I recommend choosing three shades of blue, lightest to darkest. I used three 8.5in x 11in sheets, and cut the colored sheets in half.

2

Step2: Cut the exterior

Fold the card exterior sheet before cutting to create a crease in the middle. That will make it easier to fold once the design has been cut. Place the exterior design on the right half of the letter paper. Leave enough whitespace around the design for the edges of the card and the fold to work.

3

Step3: Cut the interior

Type your message for the inside and cut it out of the middle shade cardstock.

4

Step4: Put it all together

Glue the darkest half sheet down to the inside, then glue the cut out interior design over it.

Now you should have a card similar to the picture!
