Information

Small cute clock for your desk or living.
It is made out of a 170x150mm maple wood block with a clock mechanism embedded in a matching routed slot on the back.

Birds are engraved and cutout from veneer (0.6mm thick) and hand-painted.
Clock face is engraved, also the message on the back support. Birds graphics and the whole project was inspired by some Pinterest image I simply forgot how to reference. Clock mechanism and indicators are simple Chinese cheap ones, indicators were painted.

Back support is made from two pieces of wood (maple and walnut) and are fixed using PVA wood glue to the main body.

Clock main body and back support were lacquered using a good water-based lacquer. Paint was also water based.

For all engraving and cuts we used F1 with the slide extension, an amazing tool. I have attached the XCS file with settings and graphics for birds and clock face.
