Information

This Christmas cutlery holder is a decorative accessory for a festive table setting. It is designed to hold cutlery such as a knife, fork, or spoon and adds a handmade and cozy Christmas atmosphere to the table. The cutlery holder is made from felt and produced using a laser cutter. The design can be adjusted to fit different cutlery sizes or materials.

Instruction

1

Step1: Preparing the Laser Cutter and the Design

The first step is to prepare the laser cutter and the design file. For this project, grey felt with a thickness of 1 mm was used. The laser settings that were preset for this material on the machine were selected, as they worked well in this case.

Next, the size of the cutlery is checked. The knife, fork, or spoon that will be used with the holder are measured. Because cutlery sizes can vary, the design should be adjusted if necessary to ensure that the cutlery fits properly inside the holder.

Step2: Laser Cutting the Felt

Once the preparation is complete, the felt is placed inside the laser cutter and the cutting process is started. Felt is a flammable material, so the laser cutter must be monitored closely during cutting and should never be left unattended. After the laser cutting process is finished, the felt pieces are carefully removed from the machine.

Step3: Gluing the Santa Hat Strip

In this step, the strip of the Santa hat is glued onto the main body of the cutlery holder. The strip should be aligned carefully before pressing it down so it sits straight and even. The glue should be allowed to set briefly before continuing.

Step4: Gluing the Nose

Once the hat strip is attached, the nose is glued into its correct position on the cutlery holder. The nose should be placed carefully so it is centered and visually balanced. After attaching it, the piece should be pressed gently and left to dry completely.
