Information

      The inspiration for this project came from my wife putting together a charcuterie board with wine on our anniversary last month.  She used a similar acacia board that I had engraved with our anniversary date.  When I saw what the contest was about I immediately thought about what she had put together, with that said, I worked on generating the images with the help of AI,  and engraving the two boards.

Create 2 Canvases

  1.  Canvas 1: The Art of the Board
    1. Ensure Cutting board is clean
    2. Place Cutting Board on the honeycomb
    3. Use the auto focus
    4. Mark the processing area
    5. Import the Image
    6. Use the cutout tool should you need to remove the background (mine were already transparent
    7. Crop the image as necessary
    8. Size the image to the processing area
    9. I used the sketch filter with my image
    10. Finally, I inverted the image
  2. Canvas 1 Settings:
    1. Mode = Engrave
    2. Power (%) = 50
    3. Speed (mm/s) = 200
    4. Pass = 1
    5. Bitmap mode = Jarvis
    6. Lines per cm = 180
    7. Engraving Mode = Bi-directional
  3. Start the engraving Process
    1. Due to the size of the board, this engraving to roughly 90 minutes
    2. Let Board Cool
    3. Wipe any residue away
    4. Apply Food Safe Oil
  4.  Canvas 2: Savor the Pour Canvas
    1. Follow Steps a.-j. in step 1
  5. Canvas 2 Settings:
    1. Mode = Engrave
    2. Power (%) = 50
    3. Speed (mm/s) = 200
    4. Pass = 1
    5. Bitmap mode = Jarvis
    6. Lines per cm = 180
    7. Engraving Mode = Bi-directional
  6. Start the engraving Process
    1. Due to the size of the board, this engraving to roughly 90 minutes
    2. Let Board Cool
    3. Wipe any residue away
    4. Apply Food Safe Oi
