Step1: What I did for material prep.
Prepped wood by spraying Borax mix (1 tablespoon Borax into 400ml hot tap water) and let it dry completely. Then sprayed a seal coat of gloss clear and let it dry. After the run was done, I used my air compressor to gently blow off each piece and sprayed a final coat of gloss clear. Finished with gently sanding with 400 grit.
Engrave done at 60% power and 130 speed. Cut done at 90% and 5.

Step2: Resize Text Option: Change horizontal letter spacing to 2 for top and 1 for bottom.
Current text spacing is the default of 0. Chose which floats your boat :>)
