If using, add 3M 467MP adhesive tape to the back of ¼ of the piece of 12" basswood plywood.

Place the basswood plywood into the machine and secure so the material is level, taking note of the area with the 3M tape.

Auto-measure and mark the processing area (or use a camera to position). 

Enter settings for the 2-piece ornate layer at 93, 5, and 1 (additional power to cut through the 3M tape cleanly). Enter settings for the backer at 90, 5, 1 which can be placed on the non-3M backed area.

Process the cuts (takes about 11 minutes) and remove the bow cutout piece to paint (you can also keep the star). Clean any soot, if necessary. 

Use a mini paint roller to cover the ornate layer with a gingerbread-like brown paint. Use the paint roller to cover the backer piece in white. Paint the bow (and star, if using) a contrasting color. 

Remove the 3M adhesive protection and position the ornate piece onto the backer, lining it up and pressing down to secure. You can clamp or leave to set. 

Spray seal the entire piece and string a cord or ribbon for hanging. Optional: before or after assembly (both work), customize the ornament on the back side.
