Cutting Instructions
- Import the file into your laser software.
- Ensure the correct settings for your material (generally 1/8" or 1/4" wood).
- Confirm the layers:
Red (Cut)
Blue (Score)
Black (Engrave)
If you do not want the birch tree score lines on Layer 1, simply delete the score elements before cutting.
Cut each layer separately and keep all pieces organized.
Materials Needed
- Your laser-cut pieces (Layers 1–3)
- Acrylic paint or wood stain
- Wood glue (recommended: a fast-drying craft or carpenter’s wood glue)
- Small brushes or paint sponges
- Optional: Clear outdoor-safe sealant if displaying outside (polyurethane, spar varnish, or outdoor acrylic clear coat)

This is the full round backer of your sign.
The birch tree score lines on this layer are completely optional.
You may keep them for a clean, easy guide when painting your background details.
OR delete them from the file entirely if you prefer to paint, stain, or design your own custom scenery.
Layer 2 – Perch & Panel Base
This layer includes:
- The “Welcome” banner base
- The structural backing for the branch
- The support base for the snowy owl cutout

Painting Instructions
Painting before assembly is recommended for the cleanest result.
Layer 1 – Background
Paint or stain the background circle.
If you kept the score marks, use them as a guide to lightly fill in the birch trees.
If you deleted the score marks, feel free to create your own scenery (sky gradient, forest effect, winter tones, etc.).
Layer 2 – Base Elements
Paint the “Welcome” banner and the branch base in your desired colors.
Keep edges clean so they sit neatly against the background.
Layer 3 – Owl & Details
Paint the snowy owl in soft whites, creams, or your chosen palette.
Add detail to the pine sprigs and pinecone.
Acrylic paint works beautifully and dries quickly.
Let all pieces fully dry before assembly.
Optional: Outdoor Display
If you plan to hang this sign outside:
Apply 2–3 coats of an outdoor-friendly clear sealant to protect from weathering.
Make sure every surface—including edges—is fully coated.
