Information

      This might be for some people 'the old school'-type of pencil box. Nice to keep your pens, pencils, gums, etc. stored in a box to take them anywhere you want. This box is for 3mm plywood. In the xTool project file pictures for engraving and text for engraving is added, of course you can remove these or replace them with your preferred engravings, nice to personalize when used as a present !

Actually the design was made as a gift, then I created a program (C#) to generate the .svg files for any box size and for different material thicknesses. This software can be downloaded.

Instruction

Step1

There is no detailed instruction how to build the parts together, it is very simple. Please use glue meant for wood. The pictures/images which introduce this pencil box show how the end result should look like. Based on that you can easily see how the parts should fit together.

Step2

A next step is: What if you want a different box size. The files are such that the pieces fit nicely together taking the laser beam (0.2mm) into account. Manually changing the sizes is therefor not that easy.

Well, I created a piece of software to create any size and even support different material ticknesses. You can find details on this tool usage and a download link here:

Installation:
- The zip file is self contained, no installation required
- Unzip the zip file and copy or save the files in a directory on your computer
- Double click the exectuable “PencilBox.exe” to run the program
- Check out the information site for details on tool usage
