This project started with a heartfelt idea from my mother as she prepared for retirement. She wanted to give her colleagues something practical, but also something that carried a piece of her with it.
Instead of a classic farewell photo frame, we created something far more personal:
a wooden dice engraved with six emotional expressions — 😊 joy and 😔 a touch of sadness.
In her farewell speech, she reminded everyone that a workplace is never just tasks and deadlines. It’s a daily roll of emotions — shared highs, quiet frustrations, unexpected surprises, and moments of genuine connection.
This little cube became a symbol of that emotional journey: simple, honest, and deeply human.
For the Atomm version, the faces were replaced with generic AI-generated expressions so anyone can recreate and adapt the concept freely.
Choose the style that fits their project best:
1️⃣ a version with only the emotion faces,
2️⃣ a version combining emotion faces with classic dice numbers,
3️⃣ a version where each face shows the emotion plus the corresponding dice number next to it, and
4️⃣ a playful version where the emotional expression itself replaces the traditional dice number, repeated across the face.
Whether you use the cube as a regular gaming dice, as a mood selector in classrooms or team meetings, or as a small reminder on your desk — each roll carries meaning.
✨ Because the story of a team is written in emotions — one face at a time.
Select one of the available face sets:
Each set includes multiple emotional expressions so you can build the exact style you want.
Choose one of the four engraving styles:
1️⃣ Emotion faces only
2️⃣ Emotion faces + classic dice numbers (1–6) / 3️⃣ Emotion faces with dice numbers placed next to the portrait
4️⃣ Emotion faces used as the dice numbers (repeated across the face)
Select the version that fits your purpose — sentimental, playful, or game-ready.
Place the cube on your engraving surface as shown in the reference images:
Good alignment is key for clean results.
You can engrave the faces in two ways:
Choose whichever fits your project.
Run a quick test on scrap wood before engraving.
Let the machine complete the job before moving the cube.
Repeat until all six sides are complete.
Optionally apply wood oil or wax for a richer contrast
Your personalized emotion dice is now ready to use.
