Create your own fully functional laser-cut small Connect Four game with this minimalist design.
This download includes an XCS file optimized for 3 mm-thick sheets of wood (MDF, plywood, etc.) or acrylic. All parts are easy to cut, assemble, and customize.
Included components:
2 main side panels
2 support feet
1 bottom horizontal bar (prevents tokens from falling out)
5 vertical guides (keep tokens aligned while stacking)
Tokens are not included.
Recommended token size: 17.5 mm diameter, 2 mm thickness.
You can 3D-print them for color differentiation, or cut them from contrasting woods or acrylics.
For a full game, plan for 21 tokens per color.
This minimalist, flat-pack design is great for makers, classrooms, gifts, or quick workshop projects. Easy to customize with engraving or alternative materials.
Import the XCS file into your laser software.
Engrave player names, logos, or patterns on the side panels if you want
Set your material to 3 mm thickness.
Adjust speed/power settings according to your machine and material.
Cut all pieces as laid out in the file (no kerf compensation required).
Lay one side panel flat on your work surface. This will be your assembly base.
Glue the two feet onto the side panel, positioning them on the left and right edges as indicated in the design.
Glue the bottom horizontal bar along the lower edge of the side panel, making sure it is perfectly aligned with the bottom. This bar prevents tokens from sliding out.
Glue the six vertical guides onto the side panel, placing each one in contact with (and resting on) the bottom horizontal bar. These create the vertical channels for the tokens.
Apply a thin, even layer of glue on top of the feet and vertical guides, as well as along the edge of the horizontal bar.
Place the second side panel on top, aligning all edges carefully. Press firmly to ensure good adhesion.
Allow sufficient drying time before handling or adding tokens.
For wood (MDF, plywood, etc.): use wood glue (PVA).
For acrylic: use an acrylic solvent cement such as Weld-On 3 / 4 / SCIGRIP 3 / 4, or any capillary acrylic adhesive recommended for your material.
Make or print tokens of 17.5 mm diameter and 2 mm thickness.
You can 3D-print color-coded sets or cut tokens from two different materials.
Recommended: 21 tokens per player.
