A tall wooden Christmas lantern with layered cut-outs, a tree-top roof, and detailed festive engravings. Designed for easy assembly from 3 mm plywood. This tall Christmas lantern features a beautiful combination of laser-cut stars, bells, gifts, a Christmas tree silhouette, and the text “Veselé Vánoce”.
The top is decorated with a small box and optional 3D Christmas tree topper for an elegant finishing touch.
All parts are designed to slot together precisely, creating a sturdy decorative lantern suitable for LED candles or festive displays.
The project is optimized for 3 mm plywood and includes all tabs and joints for smooth assembly.
Assembly Guide
Cut all parts from 3 mm plywood using the settings below.
Start by assembling the four main side panels. Slot them together and ensure all tabs align.
Attach the bottom plate into the structure.
Assemble the top mini-box (with bell cut-outs) and place it onto the lantern roof.
Add the 3D tree topper by sliding both halves together and inserting it into the top slot.
Glue all connecting tabs for maximum stability.
For the best result, lightly sand the edges before finishing.
Important Notes
Glue is required for all corner joints, roof sections, and the mini top box.
Lightly sand the hinge-like cut-outs on any opening panels to improve smooth movement and prevent catching.
Use only LED candles—never real flame.
Optional finishing: wood oil, spray varnish, or beeswax.
Tips
Masking tape on plywood reduces burn marks.
Assemble dry first, then glue once everything fits perfectly.
For perfectly straight edges, use clamps while drying.
