Made for my son ❤️
This ornament features the number “67,” a phrase he often uses as modern slang for something incredibly funny. Kids use “67” as shorthand for the cry-laugh emoji, basically meaning something is really funny. Since it’s one of his favourite sayings, I designed this piece as a playful snapshot of the trends he uses every day. It turns a simple ornament into a personalised memory of this moment in time — a little keepsake that captures his humour and the slang of his generation.
BACKING (RED – CUT)
Material: Dark wood OR lighter wood that will be stained darker after cutting.
Action: CUT the full outer backing shape following all red lines.
Finish: If using unstained wood, stain or finish it to create a darker contrast for the 67 layer.
CUT the inner “67” shape using all red lines.
ENGRAVE the year “2025” (green) into the leg of the “7”.
You can also engrave a personalised name or any other meaningful detail if you’d like to customise the ornament further.
Material: Same thickness wood as the 67 layer.
CUT the hat outline (red).SCORE the hat’s fur lines and contours (optional).ENGRAVE the name (green) on the fluffy brim of the hat.
Hat Top: Paint red.
Hat Fur & Pom-Pom: Paint white.
Tip: Lightly sand edges after painting to achieve clean, crisp lines.
ASSEMBLY
Glue the 67 pine layer onto the dark backing.
Glue the painted hat pieces on top of the 67, aligning score lines.
Allow all layers to dry completely.
