Overview
This laser-cut project is designed as an interchangeable rainbow display with removable cloud pieces. It can be created as a wall hanger or shelf display, sized up or down to your preference. The arches, clouds, and accents are all fully customizable—add names, dates, or special messages anywhere you like.

🪵 Materials Needed
1/8" or 1/4" wood (Baltic birch, MDF, or craft plywood)
Acrylic paint (recommended for the rainbow arches)
Optional: Paint pens for fine details
Wood glue
Optional: Magnets
Optional: Double-sided tape, sticky tack, or removable adhesives

Cut: Red lines – standard cut settings for your wood thickness
Engrave: Black lines – medium to deep engrave depending on desired contrast
Score: Blue lines – light scoring for easy painting alignment
🎨 Painting Instructions
Paint Before Assembly:
Paint all arches and cloud pieces before gluing to ensure clean color separation.
Use Acrylic Paint:
Acrylic paints adhere beautifully to wood, dry fast, and allow for smooth gradients or pastel colors.
Customization Options:
Personal names, dates, or birth stats can be engraved inside the arches, on the clouds, or omitted entirely.
Clouds may remain natural wood, painted white, or decorated with additional engraved elements.
🧲 Optional Magnetized Release System
If you want the clouds to be removable and interchangeable:
Option 1 — Magnet Layer (Recommended)
You can add an additional “full cutout” layer behind the rainbow arches sized to fit magnets of your choice.
To create the magnet system:
Cut the optional full backer layer.
Adhere magnets into the recessed areas or glue them directly onto the back layer.
Add matching magnets or magnetic tape on the cloud pieces.
Glue the backer layer to the main rainbow body using wood glue.
This creates a smooth, hidden magnetic release system.
