1. Import and Prepare the Design
Open xTool Creative Space.
Import both design components (circle outline + Santa graphic).
Circle outline = red line (CUT)
Santa graphic and text = blue lines (ENGRAVE)
2. Arrange the Design on the Workspace
Place the large red circle on the left side of the working area — this will be the ornament outline.
Position the engraved Santa design so it fits exactly inside the red circle
Ensure the Santa artwork does not cross the cutting border of the circle.
Align vertically and horizontally if needed.
3. Assign Processing Types
A) CUT – Red Lines
Operation: Cut
Power: 100%
Speed: 3 mm/s
Passes: 1
Material thickness: 3 mm Birch Plywood
Purpose: Outer circle cutting
B) ENGRAVE – Blue Lines
Operation: Engrave
Power: 80%
Speed: 150 mm/s
Passes: 1
Purpose: Detailed Santa illustration + text + snowflakes
4. Set Baseplate Mode
Mode: Process on baseplate
Laser head & material securely placed flat.
5. Focus & Framing
Auto-focus on the material.
Apply framing to verify:
Artwork fits inside the circle.
Nothing extends outside the cut boundary.
Proper spacing around edges.
6. Start the Engraving & Cutting Job
Order of operations (automatic):
Engrave (blue)
Cut (red)
Monitor first minutes to ensure:
Clean engraving
No excessive burning
Proper cut-through at 3 mm plywood
7. Post-Processing
Remove the ornament from the board.
Lightly sand edges if needed.
Optionally apply:
Clear coat
Wood oil
Hanging string through drilled area (if applicable)
