3-Layer Dog Design Ornaments
These ornaments are made using three layered pieces:
Base layer
Patterned inner layer
Dog-shaped top layer (with optional text)
You can engrave directly onto the top layer or cut separate letters and glue them on. Both methods work well.

Step1
CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
Cut the Base Layer
This is the solid circle backer piece.
Recommended material: 3 mm wood (basswood, walnut, etc.)
Cut the Patterned Inner Layer
This layer creates the decorative lattice pattern.
Cut the Top Layer (Dog Silhouette Layer)
Includes the dog outline/silhouette.
At this stage, choose your text method:
Engrave text directly on this layer
OR cut separate letters and glue them on afterward
You can use different woods for contrast or paint/stain the layers before assembly.

Step2
ASSEMBLY
Paint or finish each layer if desired.
Glue the patterned inner layer onto the base layer.
Glue the dog-shaped top layer on last ( then add your letters if they are cut )
Add a ribbon or twine through the top hole to hang.
