I had a leftover Canvas for a while and thought why not turning it finally into something cute. Add some Flowers and the Easter Canvas Idea was born.
This time I wanted to focus on XCS 2.0 Beta and using only things in the Software. Luckily in the Shapes Tap under animals they got 2 different Bunny Designs.
I pasted it into my work area and draw a rectangle to visualize my Canvas size: 20x25cm.
To make it fit perfectly I resized the bunny as I wanted and used then from the Combine Menu “Unite at overlap” to only have the Silhouette that I want to cut.
Adding some Details:
Quickly I realized that only the silhouette is boring so I got my hands on the drawing pen and the nodes to shape my lines.
If you want to follow along please look at the images :)
Please make sure to put the Air Assist away when using the Blade in the Machine
For vinyl I used the blue mat to stick it on.
For my project I used an older Canvas I tried Acrylic Pouring on but doesn't seem to like it. Thats why I choose a new Color and gave it a fresh and clean new background.
After cutting we need to wee the vinyl. This means reavealing the actual shape we want to use as a kind of sticker.
For this I have some tools for Weeding from Amazon, but you can try to use tweezers as alternative.
Make sure to remove only the parts we don't wnat to use. That means the bigger eye but not the small little elipses.
If not clearly enought, just watch the Youtube Video :)
After weeding we need a piece of transfer foil to bring the Vinyl Sticker onto our Canvas.
Gently push the foil on top of the vinyl, but hardly enought to make it stick to it. Just to make it as the name suggest transfer to the Canvas.
As this Foil is transparent you can easily place the Design in the right spot!
Push it good onto the surface and get rid of the transfer foil.
For me the special part of this project ist to combine the Canvas with some plastic flowers. I have Cats so its very hard to have real flowers and this little detail on this Artwork makes me really happy.
Please be careful using glue gun as the tip gets really hot ;)
After cooling you can get rid of these little something from the glue gun.
Thats it!
You made your own cute Canvas for the Easter Time. As I know myself I will keep this out for the whole year as it's more minimalitic and not directly considerd as an Easter Decoration.
Hope you liked this Idea and had some fun creating it on your own!
