Step1: Download the Template

Start by downloading the provided design file.
Inside, you’ll find:

A floral wreath base

Two example fonts you can use freely

A recommended professional font that’s perfect for laser cutting.

This font isn’t ours, but it’s highly recommended because it cuts beautifully and keeps all letters connected — perfect for clean and strong results.

Step2: Add Your Text (page 2)

Preview

Type the names or text you want to appear inside the wreath (e.g., Lina & Markos).
Position your text carefully in the center of the floral frame. You can use the grid for alignment to make sure everything sits symmetrically.

Step3: Merge the Text and Frame

Preview

Now, select your text and use the “Unite” function to connect all letters together.
Then, while both the text and wreath are selected, use “Unite” to merge them into one continuous outline.
This ensures your topper will cut as a single, solid piece — no loose letters, no fragile connections.

Step4: Choose Your Laser Settings

Set up your xTool machine for engraving and cutting:

These settings give a clean engraving and smooth edges — perfect for delicate shapes like the floral wreath.

Step5: Laser It!

Run your engraving pass first, then your cut pass.
Once finished, gently remove the topper from the board.

To clean it up, lightly sand the surface — this helps smooth the edges and remove any small burn marks or smoke stains from cutting.
Fine-grit sandpaper (around 400 grit) works perfectly for this.

You can leave the topper natural for a rustic look or add a touch of clear coat for a subtle shine.

Step6: Celebrate!

Your personalized wooden cake topper is ready!
Use it as a wedding decoration, birthday highlight, or anniversary keepsake. Each one tells its own story — crafted with care and a bit of laser-powered love. 💖

If you plan to ship or gift it, keep the cut-out wooden piece from the engraving process.
You can place the topper back into the original cutout for protection, then sandwich it between two thin A4-sized sheets of poplar plywood or other cheap wood.
Secure everything with a rubber band and pack it inside a cardboard envelope — this simple method prevents bending and breakage during shipping.
