Instructions:

Prepare Your Materials

• Recommended material: 3mm basswood, birch plywood, or MDF.
• Make sure your wood is flat and clean before cutting.
• Check your laser settings with a small test cut to ensure clean edges.

Cut & Engrave

• Import the file into your laser software.
• Set red lines to cut and black lines to engrave.
• Cut both layers using your preferred material thickness (typically 1/8" or 3mm).

Painting (Highly Recommended Before Assembly)

• Paint each layer before gluing them together to keep edges clean.
• Acrylic paints or paint pens work best.
• Allow all painted pieces to fully dry before proceeding.

Assembly

• Align both layers carefully before gluing.
• Use wood glue for best results — it dries quickly and holds firmly.
• Apply a thin, even coat of glue and press pieces together.
• Allow to dry completely before handling.

Finishing (Optional but Recommended)

If your sign will be displayed outdoors or in humid environments, seal it with a clear varnish.

I recommend polycrylic for a durable, non-yellowing finish.

Mod Podge or any other clear adhesive sealer can also be used for protection and shine.

Tips:

Add a twine or ribbon through the top for easy hanging.

For an extra festive touch, add glitter, small embellishments, or 3D accents after sealing.
