Information

I designed this to add a pattern to my Logitech Z533 speakers. I generated the SVG's using the included Python program.

Instruction

1

Step1: Pattern Generation (optional)

This step is optional because 3 pre-generated designs have been uploaded.

I used GPT-4 to create this program.

output_path must be changed

The included Python program can be used to generate different patterns by changing the variables:

  • Speaker diameter
  • bandwidth
  • num oscillations
  • num points
  • random fluctuations

Because this cannot be attempted twice I tested that I liked this pattern by engraving on a piece of card.

I used a.svg

Step3: Cleaning

I used isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils from the surface that might interfere with the etching quality.

Step4: Alignment

Focus the laser on the midpoint of the ring because it's a slanted surface at a different height from the top of the cone.

Step5: Framing
