Valentine - Riesenrad mit Fotos und Sprüchen & Liebes-Herz-Geschenkbox (Ferris wheel with photos & sayings, Love Heart Gift Box)

I'll start here with the gift box production:

01: First I picked a photo from the internet. For my purpose, of course, a heart. Then pulled this photo into Lightburn.

02: Then right-click with the mouse on the photo... then "Track Image" and click "OK". Now you have taken out the heart and can delete the photo.

03: But since I only need a heart outline of the two, I mark everything and click on the small single figure "Ungroup".

04: Now I have deleted the outer heart line.

05: I copied the now single remaining heart and reduced the size of the copy (dimensions/aspect ratio locked by the "lock", "orientation center" and then to "35%").

06: The two hearts (big and small) then marked and "averaged" as well as "aligned below". Then look again at how big the gift box should be in total. If you want to change the size... Just mark everything and drag it larger or smaller. Depending on your wish

07: Now add the small heart and then the large heart with an "offset" of 5mm to the outside (left).

08: Now mark the lines of the two small hearts and click on the group figures "Group selection". Do the same with the two big hearts.

09: Select everything and click on "Boolean Operations Wizard" under the "Tools" tab.

10: Now you can click on the boolean shapes individually and see what happens. In my case, I wanted the inner line of the big heart to "merge" with the outer line of the little heart.

11: I have now copied the created heart shape and pasted it several times. Depending on how thick your wood is (in my case as stated above 3mm) and how high your box should be... so often you need the outline. I wanted to have 6 pieces for the interior, i.e. 18mm.

12: I have unlocked the original form again (the small single figure "Ungroup").

13: Deleted the inside, because I need the big heart for the bottom and the lid (so copy and paste the heart again... Logically, you need 2).

14: Now you can get creative and design the heart of the lid or the bottom freely. I couldn't decide and created 2 lids. I have also added them to the file above. Of course, you can also design the little hearts at the same time and use them later for different things or decorations.

Now let's get to engraving, burning and assembling the heart box.

1: I cut out 5 heart frames on MDF (raw, 3mm)...

Engraved and cut out the bottom, 2 lids & 1 heart frame with the 2 roses and the double heart on MDF (white coated, 3mm).

In addition, I had 1 large heart cut out of paper 1x in white, 1x red and 1x with roses on it, the inside of the heart frame 1x in white and 1x with roses on it by the laser.

2: Now I have cleaned the parts and laid out everything I needed.

3: I first devoted myself to the first cover (consisting of the large heart with patterns, a large red paper heart and the engraved interior with the hearts & roses). On the dark MDF side (back) I glued the red paper heart. Then a heart frame was placed on top as a spacer for positioning, the inner workings were pasted in and glued in with the help of the spacer. Spacer can then be removed immediately.

4: The 2nd cover (with the imprint: Be My Valentine) is covered on the back with the big white paper heart. Then I put a heart frame on top again as a spacer and glued in the inside. Afterwards also covered with white paper. Here, too, the spacer can be removed immediately afterwards.

5: Now glue the frame parts to each other one by one. First the 5 pieces made of raw MDF and then the white coated MDF frame on top.

6: Now I've looked at how I want to refine the floor. Whether with the large rose paper or just the large upper inner part. I decided to line only the upper part with the rose paper. And to insert the engraved little heart into the bottom of the little heart.

7: So after deciding on the inner lining, I smeared the little heart and the heart frame with glue, inserted the little heart into the bottom of the heart frame and glued everything to the bottom.

8: Now the rose paper was inserted and the box was ready.

Of course, I also painted everything and glued letters into the two hearts in the lid to personalize the box. However, painting was only done together with the painting of the Ferris wheel.

Now let's start with the Ferris wheel production:

Since it is easier with this production if I explain it to you directly and show it at the same time... I have added the videos of the production to you at the top of the "Design/Making Files" files. Unfortunately, only small photos are allowed at this point, but you are clever and will find the videos.

Since I'm unfortunately not proficient in English... unfortunately only in German... but I'll show it And 😉

Now let's get to the engraving, burning & assembling of the Ferris wheel and painting the heart box and the Ferris wheel.

01: First engrave everything on MDF (white coated, 3mm) and cut it out.

02: Then clean all parts.

03: Now I glued the outer frame of the two side parts and the bottom plate together. Let the white sides face inwards.

04: Now I put the middle linkage of the bike together and attached the wheels to the sides.

05: Then put the rods with the wheels into the outer frame as a test and hung in the "boards" already engraved with sayings. I am good!

06: Now everything is taken apart again, except for the frame.

07: The white sides of the two wheels were taped off and then the brown sides were sprayed with black acrylic spray paint.

08: After drying, I put the wheel back together.

09: I chose photos, printed them out and cut them out (of course to the size of the boards) and then glued them to the brown side of the boards.

10: Now you can hang the boards back in the wheel... depending on your mood, either all sayings on one side and all photos on the other, or mix them.

11: Now I've painted everything with acrylic pencils.
