Sailing Boat

Instruction
Step1: Making Sails

Step 1) Every sail boat have sails so this is the first thing we make for this project. The triangle from the shapes list is used. This triangle is then changed by adding an oval from the insert button. Once the oval is part way over the triangle the combine feature is used and it is subtracted. This removes the oval portion of the object leaving a curved triangle. After un-locking the size ratio it then can be shaped even more to resemble a sail of a boat. Now this newly shaped sail is copy and pasted to create a second one. This one however is flipped by using the reflect button. Not only is it flipped but it is also reduced in size.
Step2: Making the Boat

Step 2) Now the boat itself is created, this is done by making a longer rectangle and adding 2 almost egg shaped ovals to either end of the rectangle. this are placed on an angle and once again subject to the combine feature and the subtract button. this curves the front and back of the new boat. With the help of un-locking the size ratio it then is resized to a sleeker look.
Step3: Adding a Mast and some Waves

Step 3) Now the mast for the boat is created this is done with a narrow tall rectangle from the insert button. it is placed between the 2 sails. This is then added to the boat itself by uniting them together. Now to add waves, this is done by using the shape of the boat. This is resized to a very narrow shape and is copy and pasted several times. A short one is placed at the front and back of the boat. the longer ones are placed in front along the boat to show water around the boat.
Step4: Make it Windy

Step 4) Now let's add some more curves to the sails to show the wind, this is done with the same method as the first time but on the opposite side, each sail gets some of it removed to make the new shape.
Step5: Backing it Up and settings

Step 5) Now a backing for the sail boat, this is made with a rectangle from the insert button. Not very nice to have square corners so the radius feature is used to round them off. The sailboat along with the waves are placed within the new backing and is set to be scored so alignment is easy when assembling. As you can see all the layers are named for each piece and what will need to be done to the materials.
Step6: Assembly

Step 6) Now the assembly, once the laser has finished cutting and scoring the pre-painted pieces of birch it is all glued to the walnut. The scoring on the walnut helps line everything up very easily. Then the sail boat is ready to enjoy.
