Mother's Day Message Ornament

Review layers and confirm everything looks good.

If you want to customize or change the message:

• copy everything, layer in the correct order, and change to engrave (This will allow you to see the position of the message)
• Adjust wording of engraved message
• Delete the top layers, besides the text and bottom “whole” layer
• Copy these two layers to replace the original. Make sure the layers are returned to cut for the “whole” layer and engrave for the message.

Cut out all layers. Do be aware that layer 3 (the flowers) is very thin and likely to break some. I like the delicateness and personality this provides, but if you do not then you can either size every layer up to make the thinnest parts thicker or choose a different project. 

Use wood glue to glue layer 2 on top of layer 1. Use clamps or a heavy book while it sets.

Then layer 3 on top of that. If it broke some, use the pictures above to place the petals and leaves. Again, this section is delicate, so do this carefully. Use clamps or a book to set.

Finally, though not necessarily, add the “frame" layer 4 to the top. Glue and clamp/weigh down.
