Hobby Lobby Acacia Wood tray with custom engraving.

Place your material on the honeycomb. I placed this tray vertically, so that when I engraved it, the laser was going across the wood grain.
***TIP when engraving place the material so the grain is opposite the direction of travel of the laser- additionally, make sure air assist is off to get the cleanest engraving.

Measure the material and mark the working area. For trays I used the inside edge when marking and make the image slightly smaller than the working area.

Load the file and make adjustments as needed. Again- make sure your image is running across the grain.
Run the file- These setting produced a great result- 2 passes to make sure the engraving goes deeper and produces a nice contrast.
Remove and clean with some alcohol- running 2 passes may cause some build up that will need cleaned up. Use this nice sized tray on nightstand or coffee table.
