Step1: Design

Preview
- First I started out by typing out my text
- "HAPPY" “BIRTHDAY” in two different text boxes
- Next, stack the so that are centered with either other and slightly overlapping.
- You will noticed in my design, the “B” and “Y” are are not connect. That is okay, we will create a rectangle at the bottom to make sure they are all connected.
- Create a rectangle
- for this project you can see in the second photo I used 5.82x.324
- now make sure this is overlapping the whole word birthday at the bottom, as shown
- Add any other cute shapes that you like. Here I used a simple party and balloon.
- Make sure you create an outline of your shapes.
- Take the outline and moved them over to your text and make sure you have them overlapping slightly on your letters.
- Now select all the objects and “unite” them all together.

Step2: Laser
Preview
- Make sure all your settings are correct before sending to the laser.

Step3: If the base doesn't work. Do this!

- Take your digital calipers and measure the length of the base and the width.
- Go back in to XCS and edit the the base.
- Ungroup
- Click on the inner rectangle and change the measurements to the ones you just took with your digital calipers

Step4: Paint & Assembly

- Grab your acrylic markers and make this project yours by painting it just the way you like!
