Xtool M2 Lid Stay.

You will need the following additional items for this project:

1. Quantity of 1 piece ¼-20 nut.  
2. Quantity of 1 piece ¼-20 nylock nut. You can use a regular nut with threadlock also.
3. Quantity of 2 pieces ¼-20x5/8" cap bolt.
4. Quantity of 2 pieces 3m 17204 Command strip. These are used for hanging pictures and are removable without damaging the surface. 
5. CA glue and activator

After you cut the acrylic into individual pieces assemble as follows:

1. Use CA glue and activator to glue pieces together.
2. Apply command strips to lid and base.  The center of the adhesive part of the strip for the lid should be about 3.5" (90mm) from the rear of the lid.  The center of the adhesive part the the strip for the base should be about 9" (225mm) from the front.  You can adjust placement to allow for full opening of the lid if you need to.
3. Apply some CA glue to the base of each mounting pad (with bolt extending outward).  
4. Quickly, but accurately, press each mounting pad onto each exposed command strip. Then spray a small amount of activator to cure the CA glue.  
5. Assemble the long stay onto the mounting pads as shown in the pictures.
6. Install a nylock nut on the protruding bolt for the lid.  Do not tighten, just snug it up by hand.
7. Install the knob on the bottom mounting pad.
8. To open the lid make sure the knob is loose.  After you open the lid to the desired position tighten the knob to hold the lid in place.
