      👁️ Experiment Update: All-Seeing Eye on Natural Amethyst (Surface vs. Sub-surface)Hi xTool Community! 👋I wanted to share a quick update and learning curve from my latest gemstone experiment using the xTool F2 Ultra UV.I attempted to do a 3D sub-surface (inner) engraving of the All-Seeing Eye / Sacred Geometry motif inside a natural amethyst crystal block.⚠️ The Challenge with Natural Stones:As it turns out, because natural amethyst contains microscopic inclusions, structural variations, and internal growth lines, the UV laser beam refracted and scattered rather than forming the clean internal dot-matrix. The true 3D sub-surface method didn't work as planned on this specific natural stone.✨ The Breakthrough (Surface Etching):However, pivoting to surface processing yielded an incredible result! By optimizing the settings for glass/crystal surface etching, the laser cleanly carved a gorgeous, frosted, high-contrast matte white engraving right onto the surface of the purple amethyst.If you want to try a similar surface project on natural crystals, here are the parameters that worked well:Machine Mode: Process on flat surfaceMaterial Profile: Soda-Lime Glass / CrystalDot Duration: $810\text{ \mu s}$Power: $100\%$DPI: $600$Pass: $3$Frequency: $40\text{ kHz}$Bitmap Mode: JarvisEven though the inner carving didn't cooperate with the natural stone's physics, the surface-etched amulet came out looking premium and sharp.
