Information

The leashes of my companions: a space just for them!

For this creation, I imagined two personalized leash holders in the shape of a paw, specially dedicated to my two dogs, Ugo and Aïdi.
Made with my Xtool M1 10W, these leash doors have been designed by superimposing several wooden elements, in order to give relief and character to each creation. The first names have been engraved to personalise each rack and to identify which dog each leash belongs to.
The idea was above all to create storage that was practical, aesthetic and personalised.
This creation also allows me to give each of my companions their own space, while bringing a decorative touch to the house.
This decoration has been made with passion, designed to combine utility, personalization and love for my four-legged friends.

Step1

To make these personalised leash doors, I used:

Materials:

  • 1 3 mm linden wood board
  • wood glue fine
  • sandpaper
  • walnut husk
  • 2 hooks
  • 2 fasteners for wall
  • fixing varnish

The models are 16 cm high, but the dimensions can be easily adapted according to the desires and needs.

Preparation

  1. and cutting                                                                                                                                After preparing the various elements of the model and filling in the engraving and cutting parameters adapted to the 3 mm basswood wood, I launched the project with my M1 10W.
  2. Sanding                                                                                                                                          Once all the pieces have been cut, I lightly sand each element with fine-grained sandpaper to smooth out the surfaces and any small roughness left by the cut.
  3. Colouring                                                                                                                                                     I then apply walnut husk to the paw pads to create a nice contrast with the natural wood. I let it dry completely before continuing.
  4. Assembly                                                                                                                                   After drying, I proceed to assemble the different parts using wood glue. I take care to position each element well to obtain a nice effect of superimposition and relief.
  5. Installing Accessories                                                                                                                            Once the whole thing is perfectly dry, I attach the hook hook on the front as well as the fastener on the back.
  6. Finishing                                                                                                                                                                       To protect and embellish the creation, I apply a layer of varnish. After drying completely, the leash  holder is ready to be installed.                                                                         And there you have it! An original, practical and personalized decoration made with passion and thought especially for my four-legged companions.                                                  Because they too deserve their own little space!                                                                                                                                                                                                                Happy crea!
