Information

I made my own house for my turtle, almost a real little castle with an inner room and a sunbathing terrace that he can access via a ramp. The house resembles a cut down tree trunk, from which a new little shoot is already growing on the side. It will be placed in the breeding run to give him a hiding place and a place to sunbathe.

Engrave and cut the pieces as described. Make sure to set the kerf offset when cutting, otherwise the laser will cut too big and the joints will be loose. For the xtool brasswood I recommend, 0.08 is the correct setting with my s1 10w machine, but it is worth running a test with yours before cutting all the pieces. If the pieces do not fit together completely, you can easily support them with a little glue (this may be necessary, as not all sides of the wood are exactly the same thickness to the tenth of a millimeter). Before assembling, check that all the pieces are on the table.

Place all the walls on the base. Plan where the door, ramp, and tree will go. If you want to be sure, you can put a thin layer of glue between the base and the walls.

Once you have the walls, place the roof on top, snapping each wall into the pegs on the roof. Then place the fence elements on the roof so that the turtle doesn't fall off.

Assemble the tree as shown in the picture. First, insert the side wall into the wall, then the tree into it, and finally insert the outer tree branch into the appropriate place. As a final touch, attach the leaves to the tree. Our own turtle castle is ready.

Glue the extra slats onto the ramp so that the turtle can hold on to the ramp. Snap the two side walls into the sides of the ramp. Finally, snap the whole thing into the long wall of the house.
