Information

Turn a banknote into a meaningful wooden gift for a baptism or christening. This layered holder consists of two panels made from 3 mm basswood plywood. The banknote is placed between the panels and becomes visible through the dove-shaped opening.

The engraved German message reads “Alles Liebe zu deiner Taufe.” The text remains editable and can be replaced with an English message such as “Best wishes on your baptism” or “Best wishes on your christening.”

The project file was tested without modifications on an xTool M1 Ultra with a 20 W laser. Approximate production time: 15 minutes. The panels can be secured using small screws and nuts, clips, string or ribbon.

AI disclosure: This is an original project incorporating an AI-generated dove graphic. The background of the cover image was enhanced using Atomm AI. An original, unedited product photograph is also included. The text uses Century Gothic. The font file is not included, and Century Gothic may need to be installed to edit the wording with the same appearance.

This project is released under the CC BY license. Please credit Kindeko and link back to the original Atomm project when sharing or publishing a remix.

Safety: Always supervise the laser and use suitable ventilation. Settings may need adjustment for your particular material and machine. Add the banknote and all metal fasteners only after laser processing is complete. The finished item is decorative gift packaging and not a toy. Small fasteners, clips, money, strings and ribbons can present choking or entanglement hazards. Keep them away from young children.

Instruction

1

Step1: Customize the wording

Open the project in xTool Creative Space. The current German message reads “Alles Liebe zu deiner Taufe.” If required, replace it with your preferred baptism or christening message.

Century Gothic is used in the original design. If this font is unavailable on your computer, xTool Creative Space may substitute another font. Check the size and position of the text before processing. Do not resize the two wooden panels independently.

2

Step2: Engrave and cut the panels

Place a clean and flat sheet of 3 mm basswood plywood in the machine and set the correct focus. Process the black engraving elements first and the red cutting lines afterwards.

These settings are starting values for the tested material. Perform a material test if you use a different plywood or machine. Never leave the laser unattended.

3

Step3: Insert the banknote

Wait until laser processing is completely finished before removing the parts. Clean the surfaces and lightly sand any rough or charred edges if necessary.

Place or fold the banknote between the front panel with the dove opening and the solid back panel. Adjust its position until the desired part of the banknote is visible through the dove. Never place money inside the laser machine.

4

Step4: Assemble the holder

Align the two wooden panels and their four corner holes. Secure them using four small screws and nuts, suitable clips, string or ribbon. Do not overtighten screws, as this could damage the plywood or banknote.

Check that all parts are securely attached. The completed holder is intended to be presented to an adult and should not be used as a children’s toy.
