Information

      For this challenge, I wanted to design something that is not only decorative, but also has a practical use.

The result is an illuminated 3D photograph that also serves as a dog wardrobe for leash, collar or harness. The warm white LED lighting makes it look as if the dog is looking out of its cozy home.

The special thing about my design: The file is interchangeable. The dog can be easily exchanged for other dog breeds without having to change the rest of the structure. This allows the motif to be individually adapted to your own four-legged friend.

Step1: Swap Dog Breed in Motif

Open Atomm and select AImake.
Upload the desired image file (Dog.png) via the image icon. <

"Replace the French Bulldog with a Golden Retriever. All other elements should remain unchanged."

Check the result and export the finished image.
Then open the file in xTool Creative Space.
Select Trace Image to create an editable line drawing from the subject.
Crop the subject and remove the background if necessary.
Adjust the size and position, then add the dog to your existing file.

For each frame I have added an extra canvas to the file. (Fig. 7)

Cut out all the frames and components first. On an A3 wooden board, you can also place two frames next to each other, depending on the size. This way you make better use of the material and reduce waste.

Glue and assemble

Start with frame 1 as the baseplate.
Then glue the other frames and individual parts in sequence to frame 1.

If you want to illuminate the picture, you can now use a small LED light chain. I attached the string lights to frame 4 and distributed them evenly around the opening.
Glue the individual frame layers together and fix the entire workpiece with clamps or clamps during the drying time. It is best to place small wood residues under the tensioners so that there are no pressure points. <

I attached the switch of the LED lighting to the side of the frame with double-sided adhesive tape. This keeps it easily accessible and can be removed again if necessary.
For the suspension of the dog leash, collar or harness I glued small wooden spools of yarn to the lower frame. Alternatively, you can use wooden dowels, furniture knobs or matching hooks - just as you like it best.

tip: Before finally gluing, check the position of all parts again and test the lighting
