Pom Pom frames

Information
Made from standard 3 mm box cardboard, these frames allow you to wrap wool strands around to make a wooly pom pom. The set of two are 100 mm wide (4") and have a central hole of 30 mm (1.25") with a wedge cut out to allow the wool to be wrapped around.
Instruction
Step1: Make a woolly pom pom
I used the matrix gernerator to work out the minimum settings to cut but not burn the cardbaord. 55% power and 300 mm/s worked on this machine with no fire risk. The set of two are 100 mm wide (4") and have a central hole of 30 mm (1.25") with a wedge cut out to allow the wool to be wrapped around. If you like you can make the holes bigger or smaller but this seemed to work OK.
Once you have the two frames you line them up and wrap your wool of choice (two strands a a time is efficient) loosely (you don't want to too tight or it's hard to cut in the next step!) around the outside of the frame up to five times all the way around. Use the wedge opening to threead the wool.
Once you're happy that it's bulky enough, using VERY sharp scissors, you cut the wool from the middle of the two cardboard frames to free the pom pom.
Lastly you slip some wool between the two pieces of cardboard and tie up the loose strnds with a couple of knots. You can then slip the pom pom off the cardboard and you have a woolly ball on a string! Easy peasy! :-)
