Information

      Multi-layered wooden backlit wall painting creates a raised (3D) night scene. The work features a mother and her children contemplating a landscape of mountains under the moon and stars, framed by lush vegetation.

Techniques: Laser vector cutting, assembly in 6 layers deep, with spacers. 
Lighting: LED strip on the back.

Instruction

Step1: Cutting and Engraving

Preview

Cut and engrave each of the 6 wooden plates to the size of your frame. Mine is 19.65 by 14.65cm for the place where it's deep.

Step2: Frame assembly

Mounting Relief & Spacers

Volume creation: Gluing small strips / spacers on each of two sides of the back of the plate, behind the borders. These will not be visible but will give depth to your frame.

Stacking: Gradually assembling the layers of the 1 to 6 to physically separate each scene and let air (and later light) circulate between the layers.

Step3: Closing the frame and installing the LEDs

Preview

I chose to cut a sheet to the back of my frame before folding down the small black iron supports.
Then install an LED garland (here with batteries) on the contours of your frame.
