Back to School Personalized Wooden Bookmark Ruler with Cute Cat Motif

Materials

• 3 mm Basswood Plywood
• xTool M2
• 10W 455 nm Diode Laser
• Fine grit sandpaper (optional)
• Wood finish or mineral oil (optional)

Tutorial

Step 1

Open the project in xTool Creative Space and customize the bookmark by replacing the sample name with your preferred text.

Step 2

Place a sheet of 3 mm basswood plywood onto the honeycomb panel. Use Close-up Photo or Framing to confirm the design is correctly positioned.

Step 3

Run the engraving process first. This engraves the personalized name, ruler markings, and decorative illustration.

Step 4

After engraving is complete, allow the machine to proceed with the cutting process to cut out the bookmark shape.

Step 5

Remove the finished bookmark from the machine. Lightly sand the edges if needed for a smoother finish.

Step 6 (Optional)

Apply a thin coat of mineral oil or wood finish to enhance the natural wood grain and protect the surface.

Tips

• Use masking tape on the wood surface to minimize smoke marks.
• Ensure the wood is flat before starting.
• Test the ruler markings for accuracy after cutting.
• Personalize each bookmark with different names or graphics for unique gifts.
