A look into the classroom – a thank you in book form

      This project is a special memento for a teacher: from the outside, it looks like a large, closed wooden book. Only through the viewing window in the book cover do you discover a small classroom inside.

The body of the book was constructed of wood. The rounded spine is created by a living hinge, which creates the typical shape of a bound book. The visible front sides have been engraved with fine lines to make them look like many overlapping paper pages.

Inside there is a small classroom scene with blackboard, teacher's desk and student desks. The furniture was put together from individual, laser-cut wooden parts and glued. Small school books, notebooks and pens are engraved directly on the table tops. This creates a spatial effect without the scene being overloaded by too many sensitive individual parts.

On the board is the personal message:

"Thank you for helping us grow."

The front of the book is engraved:

"For our teacher"

The motif is complemented by an apple, books and floral decorations. The viewing window turns the book into a small stage and invites you to take a closer look.

The idea behind the project is not only to write a thank you note on a sign, but to present it as a little story. Teachers don't just impart knowledge. They accompany children, give them security, encourage them and help them to grow a little further every day.

In this way, the project combines the form of a book as a symbol of knowledge with a classroom as a place of shared memories. It is decoration, personal gift and memento at the same time.
