Step1

My goal was to make it feel like an authentic collectible rather than just a simple engraved coin. I focused on incorporating detailed artwork, clean lettering, and an embossed appearance that would give it depth and realism.

I started by creating and refining the artwork, making sure every detail would engrave clearly on a 38 mm brass coin. Once I was happy with the design, I converted it into a layered depth map so different parts of the image would engrave at varying heights. This helped create the raised effect on the Iron Throne, dragons, and decorative borders instead of making everything look flat.

Before engraving the final coin, I spent time testing and adjusting my fiber laser settings, including power, speed, frequency, pulse width, scan angle, and layer depth. It took several test runs to find the right combination that produced crisp details while maintaining the brass finish and giving the coin an aged, antique look.

After engraving, I cleaned and finished the coin to bring out the contrast and highlight the raised details. From the initial concept to the final engraving, I focused on creating a high-quality collectible that showcases both my design skills and my precision laser engraving process.
