      🐷 Customizable Piggy Bank – Laser Cut Design

Hi everyone! 😊

I'm excited to share my latest laser-cut project: a cute and fully customizable piggy bank that's perfect as a birthday gift, baby shower gift, or a unique keepsake for any age.

✨ Features:

To make production faster, I also created an optimized cutting version where shared cutting lines are merged. This reduces unnecessary laser movements, shortens cutting time, improves material efficiency, and results in a cleaner workflow.

I put a lot of care into making this design both practical and fun to customize. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

All the parts required for the bushing were laser-cut and engraved.

I applied wood glue to the first component and assembled the parts together.

Once the parts are assembled, the bottom of the bushing comes next. It shouldn’t be glued onto the very bottom surface—instead, this protruding section will sit inside the bushing. That’s why you need to be careful about where you apply the glue and how you align the parts, because the placement is critical. If it’s not positioned correctly, the locking mechanism won’t function properly.

In the video, I demonstrate the correct alignment using the tip of a knife. The point of the knife shows where the edge should go—this part needs to match up with the other component I’m indicating.

After this, the closing plug is also glued in place.

Next, one of the side pieces can be attached. It’s best to start with the side that will come into contact with the acrylic (plexiglass). The acrylic sheet can also be fitted into place, and a small amount of glue can be applied underneath it as well. In my case, I also used wood glue underneath.

It’s better to work a bit faster here, because it’s preferable if the glue hasn’t fully set yet—otherwise it will be harder to fit the back panel on properly. So the back panel can also be placed on, with a bit of adjustment to make sure everything lines up correctly.

Then the pig’s snout and head are placed into position. Then you need to wait until the glue is completely dry. Don’t close it before that—only once it’s fully dry—otherwise the plug might get stuck inside
