Information

      This is a wooden tabletop glasses stand where the cute beaver gently holds your precious glasses.

Its design combines practicality for wearing real glasses with interior design that can be displayed and enjoyed, making it useful in various places such as desks, entrances, and bedside settings.

Its simple design highlights the beautiful grain of the Chinese plywood, and the delicate carvings unique to laser processing create a warm atmosphere.

This work is Prototype 01.
The back hook that supports the glasses is still being fine-tuned and improved to accommodate a wider range of glasses. Please feel free to share your opinions and impressions as a prototype model. We will make use of this in future updates.

Instruction

Step1: Preparation for processing

This work is designed for processing with 3mm Chinese plywood.

Before processing, please make sure that the settings for each layer (cut, sculpt, score) are correctly assigned.

Black layer: engraving
Red layer: Cutting
Blue layer: Score (surface finish)

Since optimal processing conditions vary depending on the type of material and laser output, it is recommended to always perform trial processing with scraps before proceeding with the main processing.

Also, since this is Prototype 01, the back parts supporting the glasses may be lightly adjusted to fit the glasses you will use.

After processing, lightly file and assemble with woodworking glue if necessary. You can enjoy it while preserving the wood grain, coloring, or finishing with oil.

Step2: Processing

Preview

When laser processing 3mm Chinese plywood, the beaver body, tail, nose, front teeth, feet, base, and rear glasses holder parts are cut out.

After cutting, remove the parts and lightly file as needed. If you're concerned about burnt residue, lightly wiping with a melamine sponge or alcohol will make the finish even cleaner.

This piece features a natural finish that highlights the wood grain, and you can also enjoy even cuter expressions by coloring the ears, nose, teeth, feet, and tail to your liking.

attach the glasses holder part on the back to complete the installation. Since it is Prototype 01, depending on the shape and size of the glasses, slightly adjusting the insertion or hook parts of the back parts will ensure more stable use.

Once completed, enjoy it as a practical desktop interior where you can wear real glasses, whether at your desk, entrance, bedside, or more.

Step3: Assembly

(1) Insert the Beaver body into the base and confirm it stands upright.

(2) Attach the nose, front teeth, and front legs (left and right) to the carving positions using woodworking glue.

(3) Attach the tails on both sides to the position on the back of the main unit.

(4) Insert the glasses holder parts into the slit on the back of the main unit.
* This is Prototype 01, so please slightly adjust the insertion and angle to fit your glasses.

(5) Once the bond is completely dry, assembly is complete.

After completion, you can place the bridge (nose cover) of the glasses on the beaver's nose and hang the vine on the back holder for stable storage.

applying a thin layer of woodworking glue will give it a beautiful finish.
After bonding, press for a few minutes and use only after it is completely dry.
Natural finishes that highlight the grain of Chinese plywood, and coloring the ears, nose, front teeth, feet, and tail makes the piece even cuter.

Step4: Coloring

Preview

While making use of the gentle grain of Chinese plywood, the ears, nose, front teeth, front legs, feet, and tail are partially colored to further highlight the beaver's cuteness.

With a natural color base finish, you can enjoy it as a wooden interior that blends well with various spaces such as desks, living rooms, and entrances.

Wearing glasses creates an adorable expression like a beaver wearing glasses, allowing you to enjoy unused time as interior decor.

Of course, painting is recommended, but finishing with oil or wax to enhance the wood grain is also recommended. Create your own original piece in your favorite shade.

*Since this is Prototype 01, The back glasses holder may need fine adjustments to suit the glasses you use. We plan to further improve it in the future.
