Recommended Workflow
- Load the project file into xTool Studio.
- Place the appropriate material on the laser bed.
- Auto-focus (or manually focus) the laser.
- Frame the design to verify placement.
- Run the cut for the selected material.
- Repeat for each remaining material.
After Cutting
- Carefully remove all pieces from the laser bed.
- Leave the protective paper or film on the acrylic whenever possible to prevent scratches during assembly.
- Inspect each part for clean cuts.
- Organize the parts by material to make assembly easier.
Pro Tip: Label the back of each plywood piece with painter's tape or a pencil before removing it from the laser bed. This makes identifying the parts during assembly much easier and helps maintain the correct orientation throughout the build.
Step3: Assemble the Base

With the acrylic base panel lying flat on a clean, soft work surface, install the four 3D-printed corner brackets using the clear screws and hex nuts.
The corner brackets establish the framework for the lamp, so take a moment to ensure they are aligned before tightening the hardware.
Assembly Instructions
- Place the acrylic base panel on a soft, scratch-free surface with the scored side facing upward.
- Position one 3D-printed corner bracket at each corner as shown in the reference photos.
- Insert a clear screw through each mounting hole in the acrylic and into the corresponding corner bracket.
- Thread a clear hex nut onto each screw.
- Tighten the hardware until the bracket is snug.
- Do not over tighten. Acrylic can crack if excessive force is applied.
- Repeat for all four corners.
Check Your Work
✔ All four corner brackets are securely attached.
✔ The brackets are square and aligned with the edges of the acrylic.
✔ The acrylic remains flat without any visible stress or cracking around the mounting holes.
Pro Tip: Wear lint-free gloves while handling the mirror acrylic to prevent fingerprints and scratches. Any marks left on the acrylic surface can become highly visible once the infinity mirror is illuminated.
Step4: Back Mirror Panel

The rear acrylic mirror panel forms the back of the infinity mirror chamber. During this step, it will be secured to two of the four corner brackets installed in the previous step.
Use the reference photos as a guide to ensure the panel is oriented correctly before fastening it into place.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the rear acrylic mirror panel.
- Remove the protective film only from the inside-facing surface of the mirror panel. Leave the outside protective film in place to help prevent scratches during the remaining assembly steps.
- Position the panel between the four corner brackets, aligning the mounting holes with the holes in the brackets.
- Insert the clear screws through the acrylic and into each corner bracket.
- Install the clear hex nuts on the opposite side.
- Tighten each screw evenly until the panel is held securely.
Important: Tighten the hardware only until it is snug. Over tightening can place unnecessary stress on the acrylic and may cause cracking.
Check Your Work
✔ The rear mirror panel is seated evenly against all four corner brackets.
✔ All mounting holes are aligned correctly.
✔ The panel is square and secure.
✔ The outside protective film remains in place for the next assembly steps.
Pro Tip: Before fully tightening the last screw, verify that the mirror surface is clean and free of dust or fingerprints on the inside. Once the lamp is assembled, any debris inside the infinity chamber will be much more noticeable when illuminated.
Step5: Install the Left and Right Side Panels

The left and right acrylic side panels create two sides of the infinity mirror chamber. These panels attach to the corner brackets installed during the previous steps.
Use the accompanying reference photos as a guide for the correct orientation and installation sequence.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the left and right acrylic side panels.
- Remove the protective film only from the inside-facing surfaces. Leave the outside protective film in place to protect the acrylic during assembly.
- Position the left side panel between the front and rear corner brackets.
- Align the mounting holes with the holes in the corner brackets.
- Insert the clear screws through the acrylic and install the clear hex nuts.
- Tighten the hardware until the panel is secure.
- Repeat the process for the right side panel.
Important: Tighten each screw only until it is snug. Excessive force can crack the acrylic or distort the panel alignment.
Check Your Work
✔ Both side panels are securely fastened.
✔ The panels are seated squarely against the corner brackets.
✔ All mounting holes are aligned properly.
✔ The outside protective film is still in place.
✔ The enclosure is becoming rigid and remains square.
Pro Tip: Before fully tightening the screws, make sure all four edges of each panel are flush with the corner brackets. A little adjustment now will make installing the remaining panels much easier.
Reference: Follow the attached photos to verify the correct orientation and placement of both side panels before tightening all of the hardware.
Step6: Install the Front Two-Way Mirror Panel

The front panel is the two-way acrylic mirror, which creates the signature infinity mirror illusion. Correct orientation is important to achieve the best visual effect.
Use the accompanying reference photos as a guide for the proper placement and orientation during installation.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the two-way acrylic mirror panel.
- Remove the protective film only from the inside-facing surface. Leave the exterior protective film in place until the lamp is completely assembled.
- Position the panel between the two front corner brackets, aligning all mounting holes.
- Insert the clear screws through the acrylic and into the corner brackets.
- Install the clear hex nuts on the opposite side.
- Tighten each screw evenly until the panel is held securely.
Important: Do not over tighten the screws. Acrylic can crack under excessive pressure. Tighten only until the panel is snug and does not move.
Check Your Work
✔ The two-way mirror is installed securely.
✔ All four mounting holes are properly aligned.
✔ The panel sits squarely between the side panels.
✔ The outside protective film remains in place.
Why a Two-Way Mirror?
Unlike standard mirror acrylic, a two-way mirror is partially reflective and partially transparent. When the LED backlight is turned on, this special material allows you to see multiple reflections inside the enclosure, creating the illusion of an endless tunnel of light and depth.
Pro Tip: Handle the two-way mirror only by its edges while wearing lint-free gloves. Fingerprints, dust, and scratches are much more noticeable on the viewing panel and can reduce the clarity of the infinity mirror effect.
Reference: Use the attached photos to verify the correct orientation and placement of the front two-way mirror before fully tightening all of the hardware.
Step7: Install the LED Backlight Panel

The LED backlight panel provides the illumination that brings the infinity mirror to life. It mounts to the inside of the base using double-sided foam tape, while the USB connector fits into the laser-cut opening to ensure proper alignment.
Use the accompanying reference photos as a guide during installation.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the LED backlight panel and USB cable.
- Apply strips of double-sided foam tape to the back of the LED panel, keeping the tape clear of the LEDs and the USB connector.
- Feed the USB connector through the laser-cut opening in the rear of the base.
- Carefully position the LED panel on the inside bottom of the enclosure.
- Use the USB connector as a guide to align the panel before pressing it firmly into place.
- Apply even pressure across the entire panel to ensure the foam tape bonds securely.
Test the Installation
Before continuing with assembly:
- Connect the USB cable to a power source.
- Verify that the LED panel illuminates properly.
- Confirm that the USB connector fits securely in the opening and does not shift or bind.
- If necessary, reposition the panel before the adhesive fully sets.
Check Your Work
✔ The LED panel is centered and securely attached.
✔ The USB connector is fully seated in the bottom opening.
✔ The panel does not move when the USB cable is connected or disconnected.
✔ The LEDs illuminate evenly across the entire panel.
Pro Tip: Before permanently attaching the LED panel, wipe the inside base surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove dust and oils. A clean surface helps the foam tape achieve a much stronger, longer-lasting bond.
Step8: Trim the Screw Shafts

Once the enclosure has been fully assembled and all hardware has been tightened, the excess threaded screw shafts should be trimmed flush with the hex nuts. This provides a clean, professional appearance and prevents the exposed threads from interfering with the decorative wood frame.
Use the accompanying reference photos as a guide.
Assembly Instructions
- Verify that all acrylic panels are properly aligned and that every screw has been tightened.
- Using a fine, razor-sharp hobby saw (such as a flush-cut or jeweler's saw), carefully trim the excess threaded shaft from each screw.
- Saw slowly using light, even strokes. Allow the saw to do the work—do not force the cut.
- Trim each screw as close to the hex nut as possible without damaging the nut or the acrylic.
- Repeat for all exposed screws.
Safety Tips
- Support the enclosure while cutting to prevent unnecessary stress on the acrylic panels.
- Keep the saw blade parallel to the acrylic surface to avoid accidental scratches.
Check Your Work
✔ All protruding screw shafts have been removed.
✔ The cut ends are nearly flush with the hex nuts.
✔ No scratches or damage have occurred to the acrylic panels.
✔ The enclosure is ready for installation of the decorative wood frame.
Pro Tip: After trimming, lightly dress the cut end of each screw with a fine metal file or sanding stick. This removes any sharp edges and gives the finished project a clean, professional appearance while making the next assembly steps safer and easier.
Step9: Install the Decorative Wood Panels

The decorative wood panels give the lamp its distinctive Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Prairie style. These panels are applied to the front, left, and right sides of the enclosure using CA (cyanoacrylate) glue.
Use the accompanying reference photos as a guide for the correct placement and orientation of each panel.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the three decorative wood panels labeled for the Front, Left, and Right sides.
- Perform a dry fit on each panel to verify the orientation and alignment before applying adhesive.
- Apply a small amount of CA glue to the back of the wood panel. A few small drops or thin beads are all that is needed.
- Carefully position the panel over the corresponding acrylic side, aligning it evenly with all edges.
- Press the panel firmly against the acrylic for 30–60 seconds, or according to the adhesive manufacturer's recommendations.
- Repeat this process for the remaining two side panels.
Important: Use CA glue sparingly. Excess adhesive can squeeze out onto the acrylic and may permanently mar the finish.
Check Your Work
✔ All three decorative panels are centered and aligned.
✔ The wood panels sit flat against the acrylic with no gaps.
✔ No excess adhesive is visible around the edges.
✔ The Prairie-style lines align neatly around the corners of the enclosure.
Pro Tip: If you're using thin CA glue, apply it with a fine applicator or toothpick for maximum control. Less glue creates a stronger, cleaner bond and minimizes the chance of visible squeeze-out. Painter's tape can also be used to hold the panels securely in place while the adhesive cures.
Step10: Install the Top Panel

The top panel completes the enclosure while providing quick and easy access to the inside of the lamp. Unlike the other panels, the top is intentionally not secured with screws. This allows you to easily remove the lid whenever you want to change the displayed object.
Use the accompanying reference photo as a guide for the proper placement of the top panel.
Assembly Instructions
- Locate the top acrylic panel.
- Remove the protective film from the inside-facing surface. You may leave the outside protective film in place until the entire project is complete.
- Carefully lower the top panel onto the four corner brackets, aligning the holes with the corner supports.
- Ensure the panel sits flat and evenly on all four corners.
Note: The top panel is designed to rest in place. No screws or adhesive are required. This allows you to quickly remove the lid whenever you want to add, remove, or reposition display items.
Hanging Crystal Ornaments
The four holes located near the center of the top panel are provided for optional display purposes.
You may use these holes to suspend an inner-engraved crystal ornament, decorative pendant, or other lightweight object inside the infinity mirror chamber using clear fishing line or thin transparent thread. This creates the illusion that the object is floating in the center of the endless reflections.
Check Your Work
✔ The top panel sits flat and securely on the enclosure.
✔ The lid can be lifted off easily without disturbing the rest of the assembly.
✔ The four center holes are accessible for optional hanging displays.
Pro Tip: Experiment with the height of a suspended crystal by adjusting the length of the fishing line. Positioning the crystal near the center of the enclosure typically produces the most dramatic and symmetrical infinity mirror effect, making it appear to float endlessly within the illuminated chamber.
