As always make sure your machine is clean and in good working order. Set our any markers if you are planning to color in the design. Also, mark your magnets with a black dot on the outsides. This will help make sure you don't accidently flip magnets

Settings for Engraving 40W was 40% Power, Speed 200, Lines 120. 

Standard setting for cutting. 

Cut and engrave layer one, make sure to mark precisely as the butterfly takes up the near entire width of a 12x12 Sheet. 

Change to a second sheet of Basswood and re-mark your area. 

Sand or clean any items with scorch marks. 

Gluing step 1 - use your middle section and line up where magnet will go onto the top (butterfly layer)

Gluing step 2 - Glue you 2nd and 3rd layer together and glue other magnet in place - Remember that the side with dot goes to the wood. 

Gluing step 3 - after an appropriate amount of time glue layer 1 together with layer 2 and 3 - Only put glue in the top small area of layer 2… Too much glue will not allow to open and get into your bendable area.
