Birthday Family Tree Coaster – A Custom Name Keepsake, Personalized Birthday Family Tree Wooden Coaster

I started with the concept of a family tree birthday coaster. The main requirement was to have four blank balloons where I could add names later.

I kept the design in clean black-and-white line art so it would engrave well on wood. I avoided very tiny details because coasters are small.

Inside each balloon, add the family member’s name. You can also leave the balloons blank and write the names by hand after engraving.

Import the design into xTool Creative Space. Resize it to fit the coaster. Make sure the design stays inside the circular boundary.

Use engraving mode for the artwork and text. If your coaster has a natural wood grain, do a small test first so the names remain readable.

Place the wooden coaster flat on the bed, focus the machine, and start engraving. The tree, balloons, cake, gift box, and birthday message all come together in one pass.

After engraving, gently wipe the coaster to remove residue. You can leave it natural or seal it lightly if it will be used often.
