Boo To You

For this project, I designed my shape using aText font. I added a ghost icon and then created an outline of the entire shape. After that, I subtracted all of the shapes and set it to engrave so that the whole image, except for the text and ghost, will be engraved.

For this, I used a piece of basswood and some paint markers.

Now it's time to laser. This is a long and powerful engrave, so be careful. This is done on an S1 40-watt laser, so you may need to adjust the settings for your own laser. Also, don't forget your laser safety glasses.

Time to paint your ghost! For my sign, I added red paint to the text and then painted the ghost white. The dark background will make the colors really pop.
