      Personalizing a canvas bag from a bouquet photo 

I turned the photo into a design, then reworked it with Halftone Maker before applying it in sublimation.

A simple keepsake, transformed into a personalized creation.

Step1

Steps to make the personalized bag

For this project, I started with a photo of the bouquet that my daughter gave me. I wanted to keep a memory of it in a different way, so I decided to turn it into a design.

1. The starting photo
I first took a picture of the bouquet, trying to have a fairly sharp and well-framed image. It was this photo that served as a basis for me to create the visual.

2. Transformation into design
Next, I reworked the photo to make it a design that could be used on a textile support. The objective was to keep the spirit of the bouquet, while obtaining a cleaner rendering for printing.

3. The passage in Halftone Maker
I then used Halftone Maker to create a modified version of the visual, with a dot effect. This allows for a different, more graphic rendering, and adapted to certain types of marking.

4. The choice of technique
I don't have the xTool Apparel Printer, so for my part, I chose to make this bag in sublimation.

5. Printing the visual
I printed the design on sublimation paper, with ink suitable for sublimation. Once printed, I let the visual dry properly before going to pressing.

6. Preparing the bag
Before pressing, I preheated the bag for a few seconds with the heat press. This step helps remove moisture from the fabric and helps prevent ink spillage during transfer.

7. The pressing
I then placed the visual on the bag, well positioned, and then I used my xTool heat press at 200 °C for 45 seconds.

8. The final result
After pressing, I removed the paper and discovered the final rendering. The bouquet has become a personalized design, with real sentimental value.

the classic version of the design and the modified version with Halftone Maker.
