Information

I made this wooden keychain especially for Father's Day. This project includes two versions: a multi-layer version with artwork for a high-end finish, and a simple single-layer version for faster manufacturing. Ideal as a personalized gift, easy and quick to make.

A unique and useful gift for an exceptional dad.

The project includes:

  • A multi-layered version with artwork cut out and pasted on a background to create an elegant depth effect.
  • A simple version on a single layer for quick and economical implementation.
  • A small matching heart with the message "I love you Dad".
  • Easy to manufacture while offering a pleasant look.

The end result is a lightweight, strong and emotional keychain that is perfect for Father's Day, birthday or any other special occasion.

Fabrication

  1. Import the file into your laser software.
  2. Tailor the settings to your machine and material.
  3. Adjust the focus height as well as the working area correctly.
  4. Start burning and cutting the elements.
  5. Clean the parts if necessary.
  6. Apply a thin layer of glue to the assembly areas.
  7. Glue the decorative part to the bottom of the keychain.
  8. Let dry completely.
  9. Install the small metal rings on the main key fob and on the heart.
  10. Mount the whole thing on the large key ring.
  11. Your creation is now ready to be gifted.

Tips

  • Engraving and cutting parameters depend on the material used, its thickness, as well as your laser machine. Consider conducting your own tests before final manufacturing.
  • For a more qualitative look, use a good quality birch plywood with few knots and an even surface.
  • A light finish (oil, wax or varnish suitable for wood) can improve durability and enhance engravings.

Happy Father's Day! ❤️👨 👧 👦🌳
