Information

This is a custom sign I made out of Acrylic for a friend, who wanted it as a gift for her teacher after they all graduated

Instruction

1

Step1

I sent the photo I wanted outlined to an artist, and then used that outline for the design. Under it I added the writing the customer wanted, using the font “Baby Names”. Once I had all that I fit it in the shape and size she wanted for the sign.

I made the design in Lightburn

Step2

After I was done with the design, I exported it to XCS. The cut and engrave settings may vary from brand to brand, but the auto settings XCS has should work for most Acrylic. (It helps to make a test cut first, just to make sure.) Send it to the machine, and once it's done, clean the sign of any residue. I used Dawn powerwash and a soft cloth. (Depending on your Acrylic, I would avoid using any kind of brush to clean it, speaking from Experience.)

Step3

The wood stand I ordered from a local carpenter, and then later painted it. Once the stand was ready and fully dry, I added the acrylic piece to make sure it fit, before taking it apart and wrapping them individually to ensure no damage would happen to it during shipping.
